These lovely rectangular shapes are crafted out of gorgeous New Zealand sheepskin pelts. With thick piles of wool fluff these look great and are so comfy and soft. Pets love to curl up in little spots with mats we’ve noticed and we’re here for it! This nice size makes a great small rug, indoor or outdoor seat liners, or home decor accent spot. Natural suede pelt on reverse.

Care:
A regular shake out in a ventilated area (outside is good:) will get lots of dust and such out, a fluff it back up- same with a good regular brushing!

We recommend spot cleaning for small messes, but could be machine washed, just keeps those water temps low and we recommend air drying, then a nice brushing if necessary.

Pieces are measured freshly brushed laying flat using a tape measure across the fluffy side of the wooly fluffy side. Measurements are approximate, but pieces are never smaller than measurements stated. I am always happy to answer any questions or send photos of current pieces prior to shipping. Sheepskin wool leather is one of the most wonderful, ancient natural materials out there. The wool fibres are naturally anti-bacterial and resist dust mites; it's very breathable when worn; it's warm in the cold and cooling when its hot, making it an all season material used for many things such as decor, rugs, craft supply, bedding and liner for shoes, pet beds, medical reasons, and strollers to name a few. With proper care your sheepskin items can last a lifetime!

Here's some top care info: Keep sheepskin dry. The best care is shaking your piece outside to get dust and such out, as well as airing out your pieces on occasion. Regular brushing with a sheepskin brush does wonders and makes it look brand new, even if the wool fibres start to natural mat up! If you have a little mess to clean on the wool, do a little spot cleaning with a rag and some gentle cleaner/water, rub gently then shake and brush out when completely dry. If you have spots on the natural suede pelt on the reverse, there are special erasers and brushes to remove marks.
Sheepskins can be washed in a washing machine, but this should only be done when totally necessary, and with the reminder to keep wash temps cold! Dryer use a no heat tumble or better yet air dry! Wool shrinks/mats/felts with heat just like your fave sweater would in the dryer!

An odor? Sheepskin/wool naturally contains lanolin, a natural oil. Sometimes if sheepskins are contained in an airtight package (like during shipping), or in storage, or in a cold damp area you may notice a temporary odor, much like leather or wool has a smell when wet. This may mean some dampness or moisture has worked itself into your piece. Put it in a well ventilated area inside or outside not in direct sun to dry completely and air out. It may take a day or two. This is not damage, and is not a quality issue. It's a natural component of sheepskins. Google this for lots of tips out there for sheepskin care. Also note that UV rays damage sheepskins over time, they can dry out the oils and wool.
